What is a Surcharge?
It is normally a small percentage, usually around 1% to 2.5% of the fuel purchase amount or a fixed amount added to the transaction. This surcharge compensates the Credit Card company for the processing costs associated with fuel transactions at the pump.
For any issue regarding levy of a surcharge on your debit card transaction, may we request you to contact the card issuing bank and, if necessary, raise a dispute of that amount with the bank.
The card issuing bank has the authority to decide on such matters including the decision to reverse such charges after contacting the merchant’s acquiring bank as per their policy.
